Ryan Sheckler
When Ryan Sheckler was only 18 months old, he found his father’s skateboard. At the age of six, he was already working hard at honing his skateboarding skills at a skate park in his backyard. He even created his own skating trick, which he called the Sheck-lair.
Ryan Johnson
Ryan Johnson, or simply R.J., has been involved in skating since 1986. His skills with a skateboard extend to skate courses to the street. He also loves skating pools and he says that he can skate on practically any type of environment. Aside from his skating abilities, Ryan wants to be remembered for his optimistic attitude. He is currently working on establishing a nonprofit organization that benefits children.
Rune Glifberg
Rune Glifberg started skating in 1986, when he was 11 years old. A friend of his bought him his first skateboard and he was hooked ever since. While he gets a charge trying out different forms of skateboarding, he excels most as a vert rider. He is considered as the best vert skater to come from Europe.
Ruda Lopes
Ruda Lopes is a Brazilian professional skateboarder who now resides in Costa Mesa, California. Lopes first started to make waves at the 2001 Damn Am Championship series where he got into first place in the Vert category. Rodolfo Ramos
Rodolfo Ramos, a Brazilian national, has been skating since 1988 and turned pro in 2001. The year 2006 proved to be an exciting year for Ramos as he started to make his mark on the skateboarding industry. It was during this year that he got first place at the LG Action Sports World Championships held in Dallas, Texas. He earned third place during the AST Dew Tour in Denver, Colorado.
Rodney Jones
Rodney Jones is known by the nicknames “Neck” and Rodneck” and has been skating for 20 years. He first started skateboarding when he was 11 years old. He only turned pro in 2002 as he was not affiliated with any skate teams for 10 years. That year, he finished fourth at the year-end Euro ranking of the WCS.
Rodil de Araujo, Jr.
Rodil de Araujo, Jr., also known as “Rodil Jr.,” was born in Curitiba, Brazil in April 12, 1979. He started competing in 1991 but he blew the skateboarding scene away with multiple gold medals in the Park, Street and Street Best Trick disciplines during the 2002 Summer X Games.
Robert Owens
Robert Owens was born on November first 1976 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Rob picked up skateboarding as a hobby early in his life. When he was nine years old, he got his first board and he has been skating ever since.
Rob Dyrdek
Rob Dyrdek was born in Kettering and started skating at 12 years old. It was also during this rime that he won his first competition and became the youngest member of the G&S skateboard team. At the age of 16, Dyrdek dropped out of high school and turned pro. His first earnings were from his signature board sales.
Rob Agliam
Rob Agliam is also known as “PeeWee” in the skating community. He first started skating in 1986 when he was 12 years old and says that his skateboarding influences are Mike Conroy and the Windsor Woods crew. His skateboarding styles cover both the Park and Vert disciplines. His favorite place to skate in is in Trashmore, Wancheese. His favorite skating trick is the hurricane to fakie.
Ricky Oyola
Philadelphia’s pride, Ricky Oyola has been skating since 1985 when he got his first skateboard, a Town and Country Zoner board. The first trick he pulled off was a boneless. He is credited as being one of the skaters that defined the skating scene in Philadelphia.
