Travis Pastrana
Oh, that sound of a dirtbike in fifth gear is music to the ears of extreme sports fans and the riders themselves. And surely, that sound and the presence of avid fans are what give the riders the adrenalin they need to show their best performance in any competition that they join.
One notable rider that has gained a lot of attention in motocross riding is Travis Alan Pastrana of Annapolis, Maryland. This motorsports enthusiast and fashion model has won medals and championships in various events such as motocross, supercross, rally racing and freestyle motocross starting at the young age of 14. His record in freestyle motocross remains undefeated to this date.
Would you believe that Travis started riding motorbikes at only four years old? He got his first bike, a one-speed Honda Z-50 from his dad who taught him the right way to ride. By the time he reached 14, he was already the champion in the World Freestyle Motocross competition and was the youngest at that. He has several gold medals to his name notably in the X Games and Gravity Games.
This guy really loves to fly with his bike and do dangerous stunts and tricks that only experts like him can do well without getting injured. Did you know that one time, he actually did a back-flip into the Grand Canyon for a video? Unaware to some, Travis has been a regular figure in jump videos since he was 13.
Watching this guy will make your jaws drop, for sure but nobody can’t stop him from pursuing his passion, perhaps, not even an injury. The thrill in the extreme sports that he so passionately engages him is just so hard to resist.
Take for instance, aside from motocross, Travis is also into car racing. It was in 2004 when he became part of the SportsCar rally team backed by Subaru and by 2006, he signed up to be the leader in the Subaru Rally Team USA. His first gold medal was earned in the first Rally Car competition at the X Games. Travis is set to join the World Rally Championship under Subaru until 2009.
And if that’s not enough, Travis still considers education an important part of his life. In fact, he is now pursuing a degree in Communications at the University of Maryland. He’s a smart guy having completed his high school three years early than normal and began going to college at only 15 years old.
With all these great achievements, what else could this guy ask for? Keep it up, dude!
