Geoff Rowley was born in June 6, 1976 in Liverpool, Great Brittan. At the age of twelve, he first found skateboarding as an exciting hobby which most kids from his school were fond of. Eventually, he tried to get on a board of his own and he liked it. Rowley found the sport as an interesting way to “travel and mess around”.

Rowley started skating in 1989. The year after, he took skateboarding a little bit more seriously as he started to participate and win in many competitions. In such a short time, he found a way to learn new tricks and eventually improve his skills.

Rowley eventually became a professional in 1994. He began to be popular among many sports enthusiasts around the globe as an expert in Street skateboarding. Among his favorite setups were those of Flip deck, Independent trucks, and Ricta wheels. His favorite tricks were almost everything and anything that involved big gaps, big handrails and flips.

After he turned professional, things really started to get good in Rowley’s skateboarding career. In 1995, he competed in the X Games and eventually landed on the seventh place regardless of the fact that he was a newbie to the game. Three years after, he joined Flip, a skateboarding company. Flip and Vans then became his major sponsor.

In 2000, Rowley was named as “Skater of the Year” by Thrasher Magazine. Three years after, he was then featured in Flip’s very first skateboarding video “Sorry”. The video eventually heightened Rowley’s popularity as it won the Best Video award in the TransWorld Skateboarding Competition in 2005. Rowley was also nominated as one of the “Top 15 Most Loved Skaters of All Time” in that same magazine.
