Philadelphia’s pride, Ricky Oyola has been skating since 1985 when he got his first skateboard, a Town and Country Zoner board. The first trick he pulled off was a boneless. He is credited as being one of the skaters that defined the skating scene in Philadelphia.
Oyola is known in the industry for his aggressive approach to street skateboarding. His resolve to hold on to his individuality is also notable. He doesn’t believe in skating to please other people and isn’t overly concerned about his ranking. According to Oyola, what drives him to do his best is the opportunity to interact with his environment through his skating.
He states that some of the most memorable moments of his career are when a skateboard and a professional shoe model were designed and made especially for him. He currently owns a skateboard company called Traffic Skateboards.
When he competed during the 2001 X Games, he placed fourth on the Street Category. His attempt during the Street Category of the 2002 X Games Street competition earned him sixth place and he landed in eighth place in the Best Trick Street category.
Ricky Oyola was born in August third 1971. He stands six feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 165 pounds. He has two children, Owen and Olivia and when he has free time, he likes to play pool.
