Rob Dyrdek was born in Kettering and started skating at 12 years old. It was also during this rime that he won his first competition and became the youngest member of the G&S skateboard team. At the age of 16, Dyrdek dropped out of high school and turned pro. His first earnings were from his signature board sales.
Aside from being active in skating competitions, Dyrdek is also an accomplished businessman. He creates innovative shoe designs for DC Shoes. He owns Battle Eyewear, a company that manufactures sunglasses and co-owns Rogue Status, a street wear clothing line. He created the Wild Grinders cartoon and toyline. He also designed and built Kettering Skate Plaza.
Dyrdek starred in his own comedy-reality show called “Rob and Big,” which aired over MTV. The program focused on his beginnings as a skateboarder. The show also co-starred his bodyguard, Christopher “Big Black” Boykin. Dyrdek is also a philanthropist having founded an organization that is devoted to creating skate parks so children will have a safe place to skate.

- Finishing 6th during the 2000 Summer X Games, Park Category
- Getting 5th place at the X Trials in Florida, Street Discipline
- Ranked 6th at the WCS Year End Street Ranking
- Placing 5th during the Vans TC Skateboarding competition in Cleveland Ohio
- Landing at the 8th spot in the B3 Event in Anaheim, California
Rob Dyrdek was born in June 28, 1974 in Ohio. He is five feet, seven inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He currently resides in California.
