When Ryan Sheckler was only 18 months old, he found his father’s skateboard. At the age of six, he was already working hard at honing his skateboarding skills at a skate park in his backyard. He even created his own skating trick, which he called the Sheck-lair.
Sheckler turned pro in 2003 when he was thirteen years old but his career had already started to flourish way before that time. In 1995, he joined the California Amateur Skateboarding League (CASL) and started winning competition after competition. During this time, he was offered a sponsorship by Arnette Sunglasses, a company that also had Tony Hawk as one of its models.
After turning pro, Sheckler continues with his impressive winning streak. He won four consecutive first places in 2003 at the Gravity Games, World Cup of Skateboarding, Vans Triple Crown and Slam City Jam. He became the National Street Champion at the World Cup of Skateboarding two years in a row. In 2008, he won first place at the AST Dew Tour in Baltimore.
Sheckler stars in his own reality program called, “Life of Ryan,” which can be seen on the MTV channel. He has also starred in Sheckler also enjoys other hobbies outside of skateboarding. He is passionate about cars and motocross. He was born on December 30, 1989 in San Clemente, California. He stands 5 feet, eight inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.
